LYDIA'S WELL PROJECT

A Message From The Nuss Family,

Our 18 year old daughter, Lydia Grace Nuss who has been struggling with epilepsy for the last eight years passed into eternity on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021. Epileptics have a higher chance than the general population of dying unexpectedly, whether it’s through falling or other seizure related activity.

After years of seizures, medication, brain surgeries, and doctor visits; her little body was ready to go home. She died in her sleep early Saturday morning July 3, 2021 - she made such a grand entrance into heaven that there were fireworks throughout all the land the next day!

The Lord blessed us with her and taught us lessons that we will be grateful for the rest of our life. She was such a sweet soul that brightened every room, the radiance of Christ flowed through her in everything she did. Over the last few days, phone calls and condolences have come in from around the world; people that she had met, places that she has traveled to. We are stunned at the impact she’s had for a little girl that couldn’t drive, barely graduated from high school, could not work a job, couldn’t do the things that “normal” teenagers do and struggled at times to form words to express her thoughts. God has a way of taking the simple things of life, the mustard seed faith of our girl, to impact people.

Our dear Lydia, we love you so much and you will be greatly missed, your resilience and forward looking attitude in the midst of your epilepsy is admirable, you never complained, never felt sorry for yourself, you embraced all of life including the challenges and were determined to live every moment as God‘s beautiful creation.

In honor of Lydia, we will be partnering with Adventure Soccer to accept donations toward a borehole well in rural eSwatini, Africa. Adventure Soccer was an organization that was near and dear to Lydia’s heart. This project is meant to bring life and hope to a rural community in eSwatini, St. Philips near Siphofaneni.

The people of this community have no direct access to water and our hope is to provide the local church with this important necessity. This Borehole Well will be a beacon of light and hope to so many people in this community. It will also be an ongoing reminder of the light and hope that Lydia showed to each of us.

Blessings to you all, I encourage you to stand strong in the midst of difficulties, hug your kids everyday, fix your eyes on Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith. The Nuss family is so grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this bittersweet time.
